Caught with the evidence

Ok...so we got our computer fixed! yay! we won't lose all of our pictures! yay! the cost to extract the files is an amazing amount of money.....sigh. Over the course of the last month we have had a lot of family trips and time with cousins and birthday parties, there are like 700 pictures on my camera right now. I will sort them and post them sometime in the next week or so. Today I have 3 that tell a really funny story from our trip to seaside.

We were celebrating Claire's second birthday and my Mom wanted to make her a hostess cake like the one someone had made for a work party. Here is the cake.

The birthday girl and her sister needed a little nap so we let them sleep in the trailer while the rest of us sat out on the deck. John went in to get something from his suitcase and came out laughing.....

......
.............This is what he was laughing about!
Who could have done such a thing?!!!?

We didn't need to look far....

Caught with the evidence! Violet is a major fan of candy canes and we still aren't sure how many hostess she had to eat in order to properly dismantle the top 3rd of the cake so she could collect all the candy canes!

Hope all is well....coming soon are pictures of the "Great Cousin Extravaganza" of 2011, a trip to Leavenworth, the Corier reunion, Diana turns 30, and the rest of our seaside trip :)
Have a good day.

Austin update!

Austin had his transplant today and everything went beautifully! I am so happy and relieved for my friend. It has been a long year for her family. What a blessing to be able to have a matching donor in their family.

Prayers

I have some special prayer requests for anyone that says prayers or gives good vibes or thoughts. I truly believe in the power of prayer and of collective good thoughts so anything you can provide will be a blessing. First off to the extended Wood family, we are so sorry for your loss, I am unable to post a comment on your blog and I know you sometimes check in on the kids on this blog so I just wanted you to know that you are in our hearts and our prayers and we hope your family can feel comfort and peace at this sad time. We love you.

Second my friends son Austin (see the button on the side panel) is being admitted to the hospital to undergo a kidney transplant. I have been amazed at Cortney's strength and faith in the Lord and I know that she would appreciate any prayers or thoughts on behalf of their family. We are all hoping and praying for a smooth recovery period so Austin can be at home with his family enjoying the life a child again. Also prayers for his uncle who will be his donor.

what we've been doing for the past few weeks

We went to NW Trek with some friends a few saturdays ago. It was a gorgeous day. Mt Rainer was out and so clear on the drive up.

We saw a turtle on the tram ride. I have never actually seen a turtle in all the times we have been so I was pretty excited about that.

It was a beautiful day.

A butterfly landed near us at lunch.

I turned 28 last week and I am officially feeling old. This is the first birthday that has given me true aging anxiety. But I guess that since I am married with 2 kids, feeling like a grown up isn't the worst thing in the world.

Peter and I got to go the the temple. Thanks to Grandma for watching the kids!

I was getting everything ready to go on vacation on Thursday and the girls were just little monsters that day! They were fighting with each other, throwing tantrums, destroying stuff. finally I had enough and sent them to their room. At first they continued fighting and being grumpy but after a few minutes the room was quiet and then there was a bunch of laughing and screaming. I went to see what was so funny and they were packing themselves into our duffel bag, I guess they were ready for a vacation too.

Friday we drove to Sandpoint, Idaho and spent the weekend with my family it was the first Wright reunion for this group, it was so much fun, we stayed in Schweitzer ski resort and spent all day Saturday at Silverwood water park. This picture was the view from our parking lot. It was so gorgeous and peaceful.

This is Pend Oreille lake, this view is about 100 yards from our condo and this was sunset on saturday night.

There was a tie dye bus in Sand point and we all got some tie dye, Peter and the girls got matching t shirts and I got a dress that is similar.

Family picture at the top of the mountain.

We tried really hard to get a good family picture...Violet really likes the ipod though and couldn't be bothered to look up, and when we took it away from her she just made a face, but it's her face so I'm going to count it as a successful family picture. Maybe we will have to all get our tie dye on and try again soon.

More of Pend Oreille (pronounced ponderay). I loved all the different shades of blue.

This is from a viewpoint just out of Ellensburg. There was a sign that said "watch for rattlesnakes" and the girls were asleep in the car so I didn't venture much further than the parking lot, I'm just not too fond of snakes. Anyways that's what we have been doing the past few weeks.
Tomorrow a friend from NY is visiting for a few hours and then this week everyone comes to Oly for the family reunions! I am so excited, it's been a long time since I have seen everyone. We haven't told the kids yet that anyone is coming, we want to surprise them either Tuesday or Wednesday. It's going to be a fun couple of weeks....crazy...but fun :) Love you all, and see you soon!

4th of July weekend

oh boy! what a busy weekend. It is Thursday night and I am just now feeling recovered from all the fun we had this weekend. Here are some pictures of the fun. above: Violet is obsessed with this hat, she loves it, It was Grandpa Browns hat.

Violet helping Grandpa water the garden

Then making it rain and spraying Claire.

Much to Grandma and Katie's chagrin Kya loves dirt, and Aunt Ellen lets her play in it :)

happy to be outside in the garden. The Flynn's came and stayed a few days and we had so much fun doing fireworks, BBQing and going to the zoo, it just made us all the more excited for August when the whole family will be here!

Claire LOVES pop its! she stomps them with bare feet! this girl is our adventurer.

Violet and a sparkler. Violet prefers to be the observer and a few moments after this she abandoned her sparkler on the cement and sat back and watched it.

Grandma and Kya watching the fireworks.

Having a laugh with Grandpa.

Kya loved the sparkler!

she also loved the grape crystal light :) she only had a little Katie I promise.

It is not usually this warm and sunny out on the fourth. In fact it usually rains, but we had an amazingly sunny weekend. This is the view from the zoo. I love Washington. It is so gorgeous.

Saturday we all went to the zoo...along with everyone else in the greater seattle area. It was packed but lots of fun...next time we'll go in the morning.

Claire loves Kya.

The tigers were actually right up front this time. Very fun to see.

I don't think I am responsible for this one, I'm pretty sure she did this on her own. yeah that's the story I'll go with.

Watching some more fireworks....I think they are ready for bed at this point.

V on sunday. Enjoying the sun and a bowl of chips. the simple pleasures of summer time.

Running through the sprinklers.

Sunday night we went to the South Sound Fireworks. It was so fun, we got up really close to where they lit them off and it was fun to see that process, not to mention the fireworks were great.

G and G Corier at the fireworks.

Darin and Peter at the Fireworks. Katie stayed home with a sleeping Kya...probably worn out from playing in all that dirt.

4th of July at my parents house. Diana got the girls these cute headbands...they lasted about as long as it took me to take this picture.

Thats right....a back pack for kids....full of fireworks. Good thing we have a lot of grown up kids in the Wright household.

V and the bubble! Good picture Peter!

cooling off with a cool new fish sippy cup.

Claire's face says it all! Time to go in!!! we had so much fun this weekend. We are exhausted and looking forward to another fun weekend....oh boy that starts tomorrow. Today we saw the reptile man at the library. It was very cool and there is a reptile man zoo in Monroe if anyone is interested in going to that the website is www.reptileman.com.
