Great Grandma Corier and OLE DAD

Three generation of Gayles. Gayle Corier, Emily Gayle Wood, and Allison Gayle Wood

Great Grand ma getting the boys to sing for her ,it was really cool to watch, Emily has taught her children well it was fun to see.

Had to have some work done on our driveway, they brought in a backhoe, it was kind of loud and Wesley and Violet just grabbed on to each other.

The backhoe doing his thing

Five of our six Grand children Kya is the only one missing.

We went to the flight museum, but I believe that jet lag finally caught up with our Sammy, he slept through the whole experience.

Wesley loved all the planes at the museum.

Clare, Violet, Ellen and Emily in the cargo section of the Huey Medavac chopper that was in display.
. Wesley was flying

Emily, Wesley ,Ellen and Clare all got to go for a ride.

The Flight Museum has a WWII vintage Navy torpedo plane that Clare got to fly, I think she's retracting the landing gear at this point
.

We went to the flight museum and Wesley got to be the pilot of this Huey Medavac Vietnam era Chopper with stick and foot controls and all the switches, every thing as it was. he loved it, I think we may have a pilot in training.

Sammy rearranging the pumpkins, He made sure they were all off the green weeds and on the pathway. He was very willing to spend the entire day there with his project but we insisted that he come home with us.

Grand Kids in the riding part of the Fire truck. the Firemen were great to let the kids climb all over it, I guess that's OK this engine services the Tumwater area, not were we live.

Duck races Violet and Wesley were pumping water ( With Emily's help) Sammy helping the ole ducks along, it's faster if you push them.

Ellen ,Grandma, Emily and the Boys at the cider mill kids animal park.

Clare at the maze she looks a little confused but she found her way out.

Peter looks like a natural holding Allison, I don't know just what she thought of the whole situation.

Violet and Wesley watching just a little TV. We had a great time and look forward to doing this again. Will publish more later
LOVE TO ALL

Ok here we go...Picture overload!

It has been a super crazy week. The Wood family has been in town for a visit and so we have been play play playing! These first few pics are just some random ones from the days before the Woods got here. We put some water balloons in the tub with the girls and they loved it! I highly recommend this to anyone with little kids.

Water balloons in the tub! A big hit.

This week Violet got a big girl bed! Thank you to our friends who passed the bed along to us, Violet loves her new bed and sleeps great in it! The quilt is the one my Mom made me when I went away to school, I thought V would like it will all the crazy colors.

Last Friday the Wood family came to visit! We have really loved having them in town and the kids have had so much fun playing together. We are going to miss them so much when they go back to Houston on Monday. Wesley wasted no time and got right down to the business of playing cars.

When the kids needed a little winding down we had them watch one of our favorite dvds from the library...PUPPYTOWN. you probably haven't heard of it, but it is a great show for little kids I recommend checking it out.

Sam obviously loved all the puppies running around.

Claire was pretty excited too.

After the Dvd it was time to go play in the yard. The kids had a great time picking apples, taking one bite and throwing them or handing them to someone else.

Sam got one!

Jumping to get the apples. Grandma made us all some apple crisp (or crisk if you ask Wesley) this week. YUM.

Grandpa put the kids to work filling in the mole holes. Pretty soon all three kids were running around the yard with big sticks poking holes in the dirt.

Violet in the trees.

Claire checking out Allison. Claire loves babies.

What a cutie. She is such a sweet little girl.

After watching Allison enjoy the bouncy seat Claire decided to reclaim it. (the seat was originally Claire's but she has obviously outgrown it)

Gpa holding Claire, and Gma holding Allison. These two are about 9 months apart.

This is absolutely one of my favorite pictures of the week. All the kids had sweatshirts with hoods on them and Sam was determined to put his hood up all by himself like the older kids and this was his result, he was quite pleased.

Claire playing.

On Saturday we took the kids to the Apple festival at Lattins Cider Mill. It was so much fun. mmmm I can smell the apple fritters now.

Guess who's a sucker for a baby girl?

Peter loves Allison! I think he wants to keep her.

It's a mini Emily! She is such a sweet little girl. And she has gotten quite good at rolling over and sucking her thumb this week.

Violet is ready to see all the animals!

There was a little duck race station set up, here is Sam with one of the ducks.

Grandpa teaching the kids how to use the manual water pumps to propel the duckies down the shoot. I think Wesley was the only one that caught on.

Claire found a little play thing to crawl into and I literally had to drag her out by her ankles, she thought that thing was so cool and would not come out!

Once I got her out of the play castle I sent her into the maze and let her lead the way. We were in there for a while and we both started to get a little dizzy, Claire fell a few times. Even though it was a small maze it was pretty disorienting.

Peter and Wesley in the maze.

Violet loves the baby chickens at the farm. The chicks in this box were so tiny and cute. I'm glad that V hasn't caught onto the idea of pets yet, when she figures that out I think we will have a menagerie of animals.

You can't go to the Cider mill without getting some donuts! We asked the kids what their favorite part of the farm was and they all agreed that the donuts were the best :)

Sam and his donut.

The kids aren't really ready to ride a pony but they got to pet a pony. They were even a little apprehensive about this and had to have grandma show them it was ok. I think Grandma wants a pony (just in case anyone is looking for christmas present ideas).

The kids found a stump to holler down.

Violet in the fire truck. The fire department was there to show the kids (and some kids at heart) the fire truck.

Peter and Claire watching the firemen.

These cousins are so glad to be together again! Here they are walking to the pumpkin patch. We didn't get any pumpkins yet but the kids had a great time just picking up pumpkins and walking through the patch.

Wesley picked up that pumpkin! He is so strong!

Sincerely waiting for the Great Pumpkin.

Sam was reorganizing the pumpkins. He would pick up a pumpkin move it across the path and say to Grandpa "I put that one there"

A great day at the farm and pumpkin patch.

Ok....so Claire was such a champ all day and this is what she looked like as we were pulling out of our parking spot.

After a nice long nap she was ready to go out and play. It was such a beautiful October day.

On Monday we had everyone over to our Apartment for some playtime in the park and pizza. The kids all had so much fun running around the playground and ball field.

Grandpa gave the kids airplane rides.

The kids were shooing away the crows, they chased that poor bird all over the playground, it couldn't get a moments peace until if flew away to the trees.

Claire tried to take a quick nap on my bed and Violet got up and started poking her until she woke up.

On Tuesday we started out the day by watching Gma and Gpas driveway get ripped apart for some repair. The kids loved this and spent about an hour outside watching the guys work. V and W were so cute and gave each other a big hug! They are going to miss playing together when the Woods leave.

After the driveway was done we went to the flight museum. I had never been, even though it is right here in town. Wesley thought it was so cool, he is our family expert on airplanes.

Behind the museum there is a plane and a helicopter that you can climb in. The kids had a lot of fun, and it was neat to be right there next to an actual runway. We saw a couple of small planes taxiing on the runway.

Claire checking out the Navy plane.

In the captains seat.

Peter playing pilot
He has a pretty cute co pilot.

Violet flying the helicopter. There were a ton of buttons and switches to play with up there. The kids loved it.

Wesley in Wesley heaven.

Knock Knock!
Grandma holding Allison. I have a few more pictures of the kids that are still on my camera and I'm sure we will have a few more this weekend, but this is everything from the week. It has been so much fun to spend time with the Woods, we are already looking forward to next years family reunion!
