marching around

We are headed out for the weddings tomorrow morning. I just thought I wanted to post this before it was too late. Okay, the 4th of July was a month ago, but better late than too late right?

Anyhow, we had a fun time at the parade and Wesley and Sam were practicing marching the next day.

It's only been 10 days

So it's been about 10 days since we left Texas, it seems like it's been a lot longer than that. We have been busy settling in and I think we are pretty much moved in we just have to get things organized for when everyone starts showing up for Katie's wedding next week.

On Friday we had a birthday dinner at my parents house. It was so much fun. We had ribs, and baked beans and homemade ice cream....with hot fudge of course.

Grandpa got V's swing up just in time for her to come play. She would only get out of it to eat dinner.

Everyone eating ribs. Mmmm....I'm hungry.

Diana has the same size head as Violet aparently because she fit in V's shades, they only look slightly silly on her.
Me and My sister.

Texas gave us one last great sunset before we left. It was so beautiful.

For my birthday we went to lunch and dinner out ( our grocery selection by that point was pretty slim) we had On the Border for dinner. It was so good. I had Mahi Mahi Tacos- Emily you should go to this place the next time you go out, they even have a great kids menu, Violet always eats her dinner right up!

Violet really enjoyed the beach and we were out of clothes for her change into so she rode home in her diaper.

Violet making sure she got enough sand on her. I think she succeeded.

one last trip to the beach before heading home. We went to the east beach this time and the water was so warm.

Lunch out at Whataburger....yum. I wish they had these here, it's a great burger!

Violet gets a little moody when the boxes come out and we start packing. I think she's back to her normal moody toddler self though.

Ready to go!

I to Too

I've been working on a little project that involves some of my photo files and I found this cute video from a couple of months ago.  Violet  says "I to Too" which means "I love you too"

Pull Ups and extra naps

I am not sleeping so great at night anymore so I end up taking lots of naps during the day.  Peter caught me napping on the couch the other day and snapped a picture when I woke up.  Today I took two naps, so far that is my record.  Only 5-7 weeks left and 7 days till we are back in WA!
Here is some video of V doing her pull ups.  She really loves to have Peter help her do pull ups,  she is getting pretty strong, she can practically hang there by herself.

Too much fun in the sun

We went to the water park today with Emily and Jonathan, the kids had a great time!  I was trying to use up an old bottle of sunscreen before the move and it apparently washed off or was no longer effective because I am sunburned!  I'm just calling it my last souvenir of Texas.  This is the first big sunburn I've gotten while we've lived here, so I guess I am lucky.  I better dig out the aloe.  9 days from today and Violet and I are heading home.  Peter and I have just been packing and cleaning, it seems to be coming together.  I'm so sick of moving.
It's going to be a busy couple of months I can tell.

A Texas 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July!  To celebrate we went to the Friendswood parade.  It was a lot of fun.  Our ward did a float, the banner on the side reads "In Friendswood Friends and Family are Forever"  It was a fun day.  It was hot!  But really fun.

Violet avoided sunburn under her umbrella, she finally broke the handle off, that's ok I've had it since I left for school in Provo- almost 7 years ago!

The parade was about an hour and the kids really had a lot of fun, they especially liked the fire engines and anything that made a lot of noise.  There was large group of horses at the end that they really enjoyed waving at.

Violet spent a good portion of the day dancing around on the Sidewalk.

Happy Independence day!  Today marks the official beginning of my 8th month!  5-8 more weeks!  2 weeks from today we leave Texas!  This summer is going by too quickly.

Just killing time

Peter was officially laid off this week.  We are feeling ok about this since he was planning to put in notice this week anyways.  He's only been home for like half a day and we are already kind of bored.  With Peter home, it takes less than half the amount of time to get the daily chores done and we've gotten as far as we want to with packing and sorting stuff that we pretty much need stuff to do.
Violet has enjoyed have Peter home and is having so much fun with newly rediscovered toys!  She found the Guitar hero Guitar and has really loved rocking out in the newly emptied closet.  She is such a funny kid.  But yeah we are bored so today we are taking a family outing to get gas in the car and buy a gallon of milk!  Tomorrow we are going to watch the Wood boys while Emily and Jonathan head to the temple and enjoy a rare day off together so that should be a fun day.  But seriously we have two more weeks of this.  I've only got two library books that should take me to the end of the weekend so I have a feeling we'll be watching old movies and walking around the library a lot!
Here I am at 31 weeks and 5 days!   That baby is getting big in there!  I am still feeling great and have the ok to get on the plane at 34 weeks.  My last Texas midwife appointment is Monday and my first WA appointment is the 21st, so I won't even be off schedule by more than a few days.  I'm glad I found a Dr to take me though, it is hard to find a Dr that will take someone who is entering her last month of pregnancy.  Plus I get to deliver at St. Peter's which is where I was born!  how cool is that!?!  Anyways, we are doing fine and we are looking forward to moving on to the next phase, we just have to figure out exactly what that phase is going to entail.
