How we spent the end of the world.

Well the world didn't end yesterday. If you don't know what I'm talking about google May 21, 2011. Ok so anyways we figured that on the off chance that it did end we should go out with a party...I guess that would fall under "eat drink and be merry...for tomorrow we die" oh well. hmmm....maybe there is a reason we weren't taken up in the rapture :) We celebrated Violet's 4th b-day on Saturday. And since she loves Pirate's we had a pirate themed party at the beach.

Here are the girls. Ready to go to the beach!

Saturday morning we had the best breakfast at a place that only serves breakfast. Pancakes, biscuits and gravy, omelets...yum.

Oh and the chocolate milk came with whipped cream and sprinkles on top. The girls were in heaven!

After breakfast we went to the beach to play for a while. The girls rode around in the dump truck and we all chased the waves and dug in the sand.

Run ! Those waves are going to get you!

In town we found a carousel.

Claire clung to me for most of the ride, but by the end she was having a great time.

Then they rode the little cars. Claire was walking around a little tipsy after this, I think she had had enough of the round and round. V and Peter rode the tilt a whirl. and V just hopped right off and ran around, and Peter was a little sick.

Family picture in the fry pan. I'm not entirely sure why there is a giant fry pan in town but there is.

V got a Jessie doll from Toy story for her b-day. She is in love! V has carried that doll around ever since she opened it.
V though this was a throne. This was in the Marsh's free museum, where you will find "jake the alligator man" it's a strange store filled with all these old bar games and antique weird things and then the typical touristy stuff. it's a strange place but we had a fun time.

Apparently I'm a tease.

Next we hit up the ice cream parlor, called "Scoopers" It was so yummy! and the scoops were huge. I have never seen my brother John not finish an ice cream cone but he didn't even come close.

That night we had a fire on the beach and roasted marshmallows and hot dogs. V has no interest in smores but she loved adding little sticks to the fire.

The next day we went to the arcade to play before heading home. Peter and Violet hit a couple of jackpots on a game and they won enough tickets to get this giant fake jewel. So Violet the pirate went home from the beach with some treasure.
When is the next predicted apocalypse? It seemed to be a great excuse to hit the beach! We had a blast.

See y'all in 70 days!

76 days

Just some cute pictures of the girls. They are mostly of Claire because Peter had a photo shoot while Vi and I were away. Now that the sun comes out occasionally we have been able to visit the farm and not be surrounded in mud, the animals are even outside!

Look at all those wild curls.

Violet and Claire trying to figure out how that car works.

Violet is a pro at the maze. This way!

these 3 are from Peter's little photo shoot. Claire thought it was awesome!

Ok so The girls and I counted and it's only 76 days until August 1st. Hurray! We are starting to get really excited for all the fun this summer. I love when we get closer to summer, Violet only has about a month left of school. This weekend we are going to the beach to celebrate all the may birthday's V will be 4 Peter will be 28 and Dad will be....54! (I always remember exactly how old he is because he turned 50 a few days after V was born.) And even though she won't be here Allison will be 1! Happy Birthday Allison!

Then in July we are heading to Idaho to spend the weekend at the water park with my family, it should be lots of fun. I am excited to be able to spend some time with my brothers and sister. John just came home from Pullman this week. He graduated from WSU and is now looking for a job and trying to decide what to be when he grows up :) Bill and Michele are still in Pullman, they are moving to a new apartment next month and plan to get a dog. Bill works at the animal shelter in Pullman so I guess it was just a matter of time before he brought an animal home :) Diana is working hard up at UW and going to school.

Then of course in August we get to have 2 corier reunions. One in Leavenworth and one at the beach. It's going to be a fun summer, we are looking forward to lots of sun, lots of family time and hopefully a little BBQ!

april showers bring may flowers...we hope.

It is finally starting to look like spring around here! (knock on wood) it has been so nice to finally see a little sunshine! Peter has switched to an earlier shift so he has been home by 4 every day and we have been able to spend a couple hours together as a family every day. We have gone to the pool a couple times this week and the girls are loving it! Claire is determined to climb out of the pool by herself and jump back in for whomever will catch her.

Violet is always just so excited to be at the pool She is a water baby at heart.

Claire in her robe walking to the pool.

of course sometimes we stay inside but usually we have to do something messy if we stay inside. The girls love to paint. my walls are covered in their creations.

our little artist. (she was all ready to go to the pool, we were just waiting for Peter to get home)

and sometimes the art just needs to go outside. Here is Peter and the girls making some sidewalk art at G & G Corier's

Violet wearing grandpa's logging hat and bossing everyone around.

Grandpa in his Logging hat. I wish this wasn't so blurry.

Claire enjoyed some time in grandpa's yard. She pushed the portable greenhouse around.

and dug up grandma's seeds! oops! we didn't realize there was anything in there. This is the girls favorite pot to dig up. I guess Grandma's getting a new packet of seeds for mothers day!

Have a great day and I hope you all get to enjoy some spring weather!

Tulip festival....picture overload!

ok so I love to take pictures of everything and over the past week I have taken 390 pictures. I edited that down to 238 for facebook and here are some of my favorites from that group. There are a ton, I know but we have had so much fun.

Above: Claire stores her bink on her head during her nap.

The girls and I set up the tent in our living room to give it a test run before Peter's first scout camp out.

Then they put on matching dresses and ran around screaming for a few hours.

BLACKMAIL.

The girls did my make up and painted each other with my lipstick.

We went to La Conner for the weekend to see the tulips. On Friday Peter and the girls "played cards" Claire was apparently playing strip poker (and losing).
Violet won when she got what she refers to as "7 Kings"

I win!!

Claire was very excited about bedtime.

The campground was on the Swinomish Indian reservation. And we were right on the water. This weekend was the first sunny weekend we have had in a long time and it was GORGEOUS! I got to sneak down to the beach and take a few pictures. It was so warm and peaceful.

Crystal Clear water.

Violet is already to go!

We went to Rozengaarde Tulips. They have a beautiful display garden to show all the types of tulips you can buy from them, and then they have two massive fields you can walk through, one of yellow daffodils and one of red tulips.

The display garden.

Trying to get a family picture is tough when you have 2 uncooperative children.
Maybe someday.

V in the Daffodils.

us in the daffodils
V in the Daffodil fields. Isn't it amazing how many there are?

Claire walking through the tall grass.

I love this picture. Claire just sat down in the tulip field for a juice break.

two beautiful girls in the tulip fields. I am so impressed, they didn't pick a single flower. We had so much fun.

we got back to our car and there was a whole line of antique cars! they were all so cool. I love old cars. here is a wheel off one of my favorites.

Peter channeling Ralph Macchio

Dyeing easter eggs!

Claire dumped out the blue dye, so there was only one precious blue egg :)

The girls had so much fun this weekend. We love going on these weekend camp outs.

The Campground had an easter egg hunt for the kids.

When we got back to the cabin we had another little easter egg hunt with the eggs the kids had dyed the night before.

I think I am going to google this street and see if I can find out the story behind it's name. Ha ha!

We got Violet's school pictures back this week. Ha ha ha! This is Violet's face that she makes when she doesn't want to do something but she wants your pity so maybe you will give her a cookie or something. Such a sweet little face that has such devious intentions :)

Well there you have it 31 of my favorite pictures out of the nearly 400 we took this week. There are some great ones on my facebook page, if you'd like to see them.
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and were able to spend some time remembering our Savior Jesus Christ and his Life and resurrection. We are all so blessed because of his life. Have a wonderful day!
