Princesses and puppy
Life is pretty good here in Oly. So far we have survived the great snow storm. We got about a foot of snow on this side of town which is quite a lot for over here. We lost power for about 6 hours on Friday, and we were fine except for the boredom (it's amazing how much of our lives revolve around electricity!) The girls got some new princess dress up stuff from Grandma and they love it!
We have been loving our puppy Zelda. We are still perfecting the house training business but on a normal calm day she does pretty well. we've all been home all week and stuck inside so it's been a little wild here as cabin fever sets in so accidents are more normal than we would like them to be but soon the snow will be melting and we will be back to normal.
Everyone's favorite thing to do is to snuggle with Zelda. She is so sweet and so warm. She loves to cuddle up right next to your face.
Zelda was reaching for a treat and fell asleep mid reach. She sleeps so much, it is so cute.
The girls got their new bed this week. It was my bed when I was a teenager.
they love it!
Zelda in her spot at the end of the bed
Getting ready to attack!
Sleeping on her lion pillow pet the night we brought her home.
That is pretty much all we have been up to this week, just playing dress up and playing with puppy. We have been doing some de cluttering since Peter has been off work all week too (no power and no roads equals no work!) it has been kind of nice to just have a quiet week stuck in the house to do all the things we never do because we are too busy. We've been sleeping late and watching movies and cooking good dinners, it's been like a little vacation :) A vacation we are ready to have over though. Soon the power will be back on all over town and we will return to school and work and regular life.

ALL THE GRAND KIDS IN LEAVENWORTH WA. AUGUST 2011 VIOLET SEEMS TO BE THE ONLY ONE WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS NOT A GOOD IDEA, WE HAD A BLAST.
THE NEST FEW PICTURES ARE OUT OF ORDER BUT LET ME EXPLAIN. MOM AND I WENT TO THE DAVIDS REUNION IN CHESTERFIELD IDAHO THIS SUMMER AND THESE ARE A FEW PICTURES OF WHAT WE EXPERIENCED.
THIS FIRST PIC IS OF THE SACRAMENT TABLE AT THE OLD CHESTERFIELD CHAPEL NOTICE THE CUPS ARE GLASS SO AFTER EACH MEETING THE TEACHERS QUORUM WOULD HAVE TO WASH AND DRY THEM, MY HOW WE HAVE PROGRESSED.
THIS IS THE VIEW FROM THE PULPIT WITH THE STOVE TO KEEP US ALL WARM, IN THE WINTER AGAIN THE TEACHERS QUORUM NEEDED TO MAKE SURE THAT THE FIRE WAS STOKED AND PLENTY OF FUEL WAS ON HAND. IN THE BACK WALL ARE BANNERS FOR THE DIFFERENT AUXILIARIES. AND DON'T FORGET THE OH SO COMFORTABLE PEWS.
THIS IS THE INSIDE OF JAMES HENRY DAVIDS AND RUTH PIEDE CALLS CABIN , MY GREAT GRANDPARENTS, THEY ARE THE SETTLERS WHO CAME FORM CENTERVILLER UTAH IN THE MID 1800'S TO SETTLE THIS AREA. THIS IS A 3 ROOM CABIN I AM STANDING IN THE BEDROOM WHICH IS ABOUT HALF THE SIZE OF THE ROOM THAT YOU SEE HERE. UNCLE REX SAYS THAT THERE WAS A LOFT IN THIS CABIN WHERE MOST OF THE KIDS SLEPT, YOU CAN SEE THE LOW RAFTERS THAT MADE THIS POSSIBLE
AGAIN OUT OF ORDER BUT THIS IS THE CHAPEL IN CHESTERFIELD IDAHO ON THE BACK LEFT HAND CORNER OF THIS BUILDING YOU CAN STILL SEE THE WAGON RUTS THAT IS THE OLD OREGON TRAIL IT'S REALLY COOL.
HERE ARE THE GRAVE SITES OF MY GREAT GRANDPARENTS JAMES AND RUTH DAVIDS. THE SITE FOR THIS CEMETERY IS ACTUALLY THE HOMESTEAD SITE OF THEIR CLAIM WHICH THEY GAVE TO THE TOWN OF CHESTERFIELD. ON ALL SIDES OF THEIR SITE ARE THE GRAVES OF FAMILY IT'S AN INSPIRING SITE.
BREAKING WITH THE IDAHO THEME WE ARE BACK IN LEAVENWORTH AT CLAIRE'S BIRTHDAY PARTY, SHE IS SERVING US TEA FROM HER NEW TEA SET SHE WAS SO VERY DILIGENT AND CUTE.

AT THE CORIER FAMILY REUNION WE FIND LITTLE ALLISON CRAWLING THROUGH THE WORM HOLE.

BACK IN IDAHO GRANDPA DAVIDS CABIN
HERE IS A PICTURE OF GRANDMA CORIER VISITING HER GRANDMA DAVIDS HOUSE. IT WAS FUN TO BE THERE WITH HER AND UNCLE DAN AND AUNT JOYCE, THEY WERE SO VERY GOOD TO HER AND WAITED ON HER HAND AND FOOT, WE ARE SO FORTUNATE TO HAVE SUCH A COMPASSIONATE COUPLE IN OUR FAMILY.
THE CABIN AS YOU LOOK AT THIS THE LIVING ROOM IS ON THE RIGHT OF THEIR FRONT DOOR AND THE BEDROOM ON THE LEFT, NOTICE IN THE BACK IS THE KITCHEN AND IT WAS AS LARGE AS THE LIVING ROOM.
HOWDY TO EMILY AND ALLISON.
ALLISON HAS HER MOTHERS EYES AND HE MOTHER HAS HER GRANDFATHER CORIERS EYES
CHRISTMAS AND CLAIR IS TRYING TO DECIDE WHICH PRESENT TO OPEN. IT WAS SO FUN TO BE WITH PETE AND ELLEN. ELLEN FIXED US A KILLER BREAKFAST
MORE PICTURE LATER MAYBE BEFORE THE NEXT SNOW STORM
HAVE A FUNNY DAY

Zelda
We decided to name The puppy Zelda. Peter likes it because of:
And I like it because of:
Zelda Fitzgerald. Wife of author F. Scott Fitzgerald, 1920's Icon, the first "flapper", Schizophrenic, Author, and Feminist icon.
Little miss Zelda should be ready to come home in about 2 weeks :)

PUPPY! name to be determined!
We are getting a Puppy! She is so cute and so cuddly I had such a hard time leaving her there for 2 more weeks! she is a Havanese/Lhasa apso mix and should grow to be around 15 pounds. We did lots of research to find just the right dog for us and we think we found her!
that little brown guy was a little bully, he had a fiesty personality! We are looking forward to puppy kisses and cuddles soon! We have not picked a name for her yet, we are thinking something feminine because she is so tiny and cute, or something literary either from a Jane Austen book or Shakespeare or something Cuban as Havanese are the official dog of Cuba. you learn something new everyday.

Merry Christmas!- Our Christmas Card to you :)
Well there is only one day until Christmas so I guess I had better write our families Christmas letter. We have had a wonderful year, there have been so many blessings for our family.
I have been staying home with the girls again this year. I am so lucky to be able to be home with my girls. I love to read and cook and make crafts. The girls keep me pretty busy, but I try to make time for all the things I like to do too :)
We celebrated our 6th anniversary this August. All we wanted was to walk around downtown in all the little shops that we can't go into with small children and to go out to eat at a restaurant that didn't bring crayons to the table along with our menu. We had a great anniversary!
Violet turned 4 this year. She is in her second year of Pre school and we are all getting excited about Kindergarten next year! She goes to speech therapy once a week and loves her time with Allison. She has been making amazing progress in her speech abilities and we expect her to be all caught up by the end of the school year. We are so proud of her she is such a little trooper. She is also making great progress with her braces to correct her toe walking, she is walking correctly much more often now. Violet has an amazing imagination and loves to pretend to be a princess, of course her favorite part is bossing us around like we are her subjects.
Claire turned 2 this summer, and she loves to be home with her Mom! Claire is our little daredevil child and loves to climb everything and when she reaches the top she usually jumps off. Claire loves to play with Violet and can't wait to pick V up from school each day. Claire loves to play cars and she especially loves whales. Claire asks to have her nails painted pink every day, she loves it so much and she will show everyone she comes across her pretty pink nails.
Merry Christmas from the West Oly Coriers! We have had such a great year and we hope you all have a great 2012, we look forward to great things this year.
Peter started back to school this year. He is working towards his Master's in Public Administration at Evergreen State College. So far he loves it and is really looking forward to some exciting research he will get to do later this year. He is working at Department of liscensing for the State of WA, so if you get a DUI you might find yourself talking to a familiar person on the end of the line!
